The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are identical price online vs the door — but the door is often sold out or has 1–2 hour queues. Book direct on their websites, same day is usually possible off-peak.
A loaded OV-chipkaart reduces each GVB tram/metro journey from €4 (single) to around €1–2. Even for short trips, picking one up from the station saves noticeably over a few days.
